A few weeks ago I was contacted by a momstown mom from another chapter and I want to share this wonderful story with you.
She was on our momstown.ca facebook page and noticed another mom had posted a comment. It read, she could not afford a momstown membership, but she really wished they could so she and her children could get out and meet some new friends. The moms who read that comment, wanted to share the momstown experience with this other mother even though they are from 2 different chapters. She felt it is important for every mom to have a wonderful support group of friends as she has found through her momstown chapter.
She emailed our head office, who forwarded her request to me. This generous mom offered to pay for this woman's membership, but asked to remain anonymous. Our head office let the new member know she had "won" the membership for her family.
Our new member to momstown Newmarket and Aurora is an active member, and a great mom! We welcome her to our chapter and THANK the quiet mom who has a genourous heart!
The webinar is…Get Kids to Listen without Nagging, Reminding or Yelling and Amy McCready promises that we’ll walk away with concrete tools we can use the next day and see results. Am especially interested in learning the 5 R’s of Fair and Effective Consequences!
With this webinar structure, members can watch, listen and even interact with our host, Amy. Participants are not required to have a webcam, only a computer with speakers. Amy is right there LIVE, a video image of her is in the upper left corner of participants monitor the whole time. As she talks, participants watch her PowerPoint presentation that is packed with valuable information. She'll also stop to answer our questions about difficulties and needs when it comes to getting our kids to listen.momstown mamas (us) will also be able to use live chat to connect with our own members.
Who would have thought when this election began that the election race would have been so tight, and not by who pollsters would have thought. The NDP have made quite the comeback and Jack Layton has turned into a Canadian rock star! Although the Conservatives maintain their lead things sure are tight, and every vote will count!
So mamas get out there and vote! Make your voice heard and shape the world that we will live in. All you need to vote is proof of address and a valid Canadian ID. If you have just moved and your ID has not been switched bring a piece of mail with you that has your current address on it.
Not sure where to go to place your vote click here Vote.ca it is super easy. Enter your address and voila it will give you a map of where to go. It even lists who the candidates in your area are and links to their personal sites.
